Hi, I'm Alex.
I'm a PNW native and visual storyteller drawn to the ways joy, connection, and emotion show up in real life. I'm interested in capturing those moments with a mix of authenticity and creativity, whether that's the wild energy of a family with little kids, the intensity and vulnerability of a boudoir session, or the quiet moments in between. My goal isn't simply to make beautiful photographs, but to create images that feel unmistakably like the people in them and reflect something true about who they are in this season of their lives.
I've worn a lot of hats since I first picked up a camera, but coming back to photography feels a little like coming home. Becoming a mom has made me even more aware of how quickly childhood moves and how easily the everyday moments we think we'll remember can slip away. It has also made me believe deeply that mothers and other caregivers deserve to be in those photographs, too, not just behind the camera, making memories for everyone else, but right there in the middle of them.
As a neurodivergent photographer, I especially understand the importance of creating space for people, particularly kids, to show up as they are, without pressure to sit still, smile on cue, or perform for the camera. I build sessions around each family’s goals, needs, and personalities, and I tend to show up prepared with snacks, toys, bubbles, movement, and plenty of room for things to unfold naturally. I want the experience to feel good, not like everyone has to become a different version of themselves for the camera.
After more than 15 years of freelance photography, I've learned that the images I love most aren't necessarily the ones where everyone is perfectly posed. They're the ones where you can feel something: the belly laugh, the wildness, the tenderness, the confidence, the connection.
Whether it’s a boudoir session focused on self-love and sensual expression or an adventurous day spent photographing a family and their little ones, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel honest, expressive, and deeply personal to the people in them.
